Supported Blender Versions

Blender version Status Notes
5.0.x Not officially supported The add-on metadata requires Blender 5.1.0. Some code may load in 5.0, but Rigger Aids 5.1.1 is not certified for production use there.
5.1.x Supported Primary target for Rigger Aids 5.1.1. Registration and removal were verified in Blender 5.1.2.
5.2.x Compatible Registration and removal were verified in Blender 5.2.0 LTS. Report any workflow-specific issue caused by an API change.
Future Blender 5.x releases Check before production use Rigger Aids is intended for Blender 5+, but a future Blender release is not automatically certified until it has been tested.
Blender 4.x and older Not supported Use a release specifically made for that Blender generation, if one is available.

“Blender 5+” describes the product generation. It does not mean every past or future Blender 5.x build has identical API behavior. Always check the supported-version table and release notes.

System Requirements

<aside>

Operating System

Rigger Aids is written in Python and uses Blender’s built-in Python API. It has no detected third-party Python package dependency.

If an operating-system-specific problem occurs, include the operating system and Blender build information in the support request.

Hardware

Rigger Aids does not require specialized hardware beyond Blender’s own requirements.

Performance depends mainly on:

Large production rigs may take longer to scan, refresh, rename, or process than small test rigs.

Software and Package Requirements

Recommended add-ons listed in Recommended Add-ons are optional unless a specific integration explicitly says otherwise.

Blender Data Requirements

<aside>

Rigger Aids operates on existing Blender data. Individual tools may require one or more of the following:

Each feature page identifies its intended context and workflow.

Permissions and Local Files

<aside>

Script Library

The Script Library can register folders containing Python scripts and run a selected script inside Blender.

<aside> ⚠️

Only run scripts from sources you trust. A Blender Python script can modify the current file and access files available to your user account.

</aside>

Rigger Aids does not require the Script Library for its other toolsets.

Internet Connection

An internet connection is needed to download Rigger Aids and obtain updates from Superhive. The installed add-on does not require a continuous internet connection for its normal local rigging tools.

File Safety and Backups

<aside>

Before using batch rename, delete, constraint, parenting, driver, shape key, or vertex group operations:

  1. Save the Blender file.
  2. Create a versioned backup for important production work.
  3. Test unfamiliar batch operations on a copy.
  4. Review the active object, selected items, checked rows, and current mode.

Some Blender operations may not be fully recoverable after saving and closing the file.
