Start with the checks in order. Many Rigger Aids problems come from an unsupported Blender version, a duplicate installation, the wrong active object or mode, stale list data, or an operation whose required source and target data is incomplete.

First Checks

  1. Save the current Blender file under a new name.
  2. Confirm the exact Blender and Rigger Aids versions.
  3. Confirm that the Blender version is supported.
  4. Restart Blender and reproduce the problem once.
  5. Check the active object, selection, and Blender mode.
  6. Refresh the relevant Rigger Aids list or panel.
  7. Test the same operation in a small new file.
  8. Record the complete error message before changing the setup. </aside>

Rigger Aids Is Installed but the Sidebar Tab Is Missing

Duplicate Panels or “Already Registered” Errors

This usually indicates more than one Rigger Aids copy or a stale Blender session.

  1. Disable Rigger Aids.
  2. Search Blender’s extension and add-on locations for older Rigger Aids installations.
  3. Remove the obsolete copy.
  4. Restart Blender.
  5. Install and enable only the current release.

Do not keep a legacy add-on copy and an extension copy enabled at the same time.

A Button Is Disabled

Check:

A disabled button often protects against running an operation in an invalid context.

Linked Data Cannot Be Edited

Objects, armatures, actions, or other data linked from an external library may be read-only. Use an appropriate library override or work on local editable data. Save a backup before changing a production linking workflow.
